New York to Washington D.C.
We would like to formally apologize to anyone who signed and saw our petition. Unfortunately the internet being what it is (an anonymous haven), our petition was hacked by spammers and a few unruly high school students. We have stopped the current petition and printed out all the valid signatures. In the coming days we will be putting a new, hopefully more secure petition up right on this very page...no link to third party sites. Thank you for your patience and generosity.

To: U.S. Congress Since America’s establishment, the military has served the country unequivocally. Their dedication and bravery is second to none Our veterans deserve to be revered, they are willing to give everything to protect our freedom and yet receive so little in return. There are certain inalienable rights and benefits that should be allotted to them. They protect America; therefore, America should protect them. This petition seeks to successfully pass legislation that would grant Veterans their own Bill of Rights.

Sometimes it is not enough to just put a yellow ribbon on the bumper of our car or a sticker that says “I Support Our Troops” on the car trunk.
Sometimes you have to stand up and do something.
Sometimes you have to shout to be heard.
Sometimes you just have to ask, don’t we have an obligation to our service men and woman, to their families, to their loved ones?
Every day our troops put themselves into harms way so that we don’t have to. Whether you agree with war or not, whether you agree with the actions of our Government or not, you can not deny the sacrifices made by our men and women of the armed forces.
Starting on November 7, 2009, Chris Cuddihy will be running from New York City to Washington DC, finishing 3 to 4 days and some 250 miles later at the steps of the Capitol Building. (This is the equivalent of more than 2 marathons each day) Chris is running for Wounded Warrior Project and to get a real “Veterans Bill of Rights” for our troops. He hopes to get the petition for this Veterans Bill of Rights signed by as many people as he can along the way. This petition will demand that our government start treating our returning GI’s and their family’s with the dignity and respect they deserve so that our returning Veterans will never have to fight for the care they need and so that they will be able to retain their dignity and self respect as soldiers and as citizens.
