Chris is a father of four with seven grandchildren and this is not his first charitable undertaking. Less then two years ago he received his first Guinness World Record for being part of the first crew ever to navigate an ocean in a multi-hulled rowboat.  The trimaran named ORCA and her crew of 4 men battled the Atlantic Ocean and near constant rain and 30 foot waves over the course of 36 days to achieve the record.

Most people would have been satisfied with a single accomplishment of this nature, but not Chris. The fire was lit. A mere 14 months after completing his oceanic row, Chris attempted a feat that no other human being had ever managed to complete.  Along with his friend Stuart Kershaw of England and two other runners, Oliver Dudley and Jack Jones, he attempted to run 7 Ultra Marathons, in 7 days, on the 7 continents to raise funds for an orphanage in Uganda. Though Chris had only been running for under a year and never more then 10K until three months before the run, he felt that the cause was worth the risk. Chris and Jack Jones finished the challenge making himself and Jack the first runners ever to have completed the feat. That was in March of this year 2009.

Having recovered from his ordeal and his injuries, Chris has opted to take on his greatest challenge yet. Chris will run from New York City to Washington DC, a distance of about 250 miles, over the course of three to four days. This is the equivalent of running more than two marathons a day. Even for most Ultra Distance Runners this is a real challenge. Chris has been battling knee and back issues since returning from his 7in7on7 effort, and has to date only been able to put together one 55 mile run and some 10 and 15 mile runs. He feels that the effort will be worth the risk. He is running to raise $10,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project and to get a petition signed by as many people as he can for a GI Bill of Rights (written by the Lindenhurst High School Social Studies Class of Ralph Viggiano) and hand deliver it to the US Congress in Washington DC.

Please help Chris by donating just $10.00 and passing on web site to ten friends. It is that easy; $10.00 and a few emails. If you would like to accompany Chris on part of his journey please email us and let us know where you would like to meet. We will be posting our intended route in the next few days.
